The challenge
Help Grow Lanka is a global exporter of coco peat and coir products, operating a multi-stage factory in Sri Lanka supplied by a sprawling network of independent raw-material suppliers. By 2022, the operation had grown faster than the systems running it.
Supplier onboarding lived in paper ledgers. Material receipts were recorded by hand and reconciled into spreadsheets at the end of each week. Factory floor data — production, quality assurance, wastage, shift output — was captured on whiteboards and retyped after the fact. Warehousing, HR, and export invoicing each ran in isolated tools that didn't talk to each other.
The result: every handoff between supplier, factory, warehouse, HR, and export was a bottleneck. Leadership couldn't get a reliable answer to a simple question — "how much finished stock do we actually have, and when can we ship it?" — without a half-day of manual reconciliation.
What we built
Mobisec engineered a dual-platform ecosystem that replaced every manual handoff with a single source of truth.
HelpGrow Marketplace — supplier-facing mobile app
A mobile application built for field-level usage by raw-material suppliers. Suppliers register, record dispatches, track payments, and communicate directly with the factory. Every material movement is captured at source — no re-entry downstream.
- Supplier onboarding with KYC workflow
- Field-level dispatch recording with photo evidence
- Real-time status updates and payment reconciliation
- Offline-first sync for low-connectivity regions
End-to-end manufacturing ERP
A custom enterprise platform unifying every operation inside the factory gates and beyond.
- Production & QA — shift-level output tracking, quality rejection workflows, wastage analysis
- Warehouse & inventory — real-time stock positions across raw, WIP, and finished goods
- HR & payroll — workforce scheduling, attendance, and integrated payroll
- Export invoicing — automated document generation tied directly to shipped inventory
- Executive dashboards — live visibility from boardroom to loading dock
The architecture
We designed the system for operational resilience: the factory doesn't stop because the head office loses internet. Every module operates on a consistent data model, with event-driven synchronisation between the mobile marketplace, the factory systems, and the executive layer.
Role-based access control ensures that suppliers, floor supervisors, warehouse staff, HR, and leadership each see exactly what they need — and nothing they don't.
Impact
2× faster production cycle — achieved within the first operational quarter of the unified platform going live.
The bigger outcome wasn't any single metric. It was that leadership finally had one version of the truth, from the moment raw material left a supplier's yard to the moment a container cleared the export invoice. Bottlenecks that used to cost days of manual reconciliation disappeared entirely.
- Supply-chain visibility from raw-material collection through to final export invoicing
- Elimination of manual re-entry between suppliers, factory, warehouse, and accounts
- Unified HR and workforce data — for the first time tied to production output
- A platform the business could scale on, rather than around
Why it worked
- We built, we didn't assemble. No off-the-shelf ERP was going to fit the raw-material sourcing model, the factory's QA workflow, and the export documentation in one coherent system. Custom was the only real option.
- Field-first, not dashboard-first. The mobile marketplace was designed to be used by suppliers on a phone in a field — not by analysts in a boardroom. That constraint disciplined every design decision.
- We stayed past launch. Real manufacturing operations change. The Mobisec team continued to extend the platform as Help Grow Lanka's processes evolved — new QA parameters, new supplier geographies, new compliance requirements.
