Mobisec
About Mobisec

An engineering firm. Not an agency.

Since 2014, Mobisec has been the team operators reach for when the system actually has to work. Manufacturing ERPs that move containers across continents. Telecom platforms that stay up when a million subscribers need them. Consumer applications that survive real-world retention in competitive markets.

The path so far

A decade of building systems that had to work.

We've spent the last ten years in three domains most firms treat as unrelated: carrier-scale telecom, export-grade manufacturing, and competitive consumer apps. The cross-pollination is the point.

2014

Mobisec founded in Colombo

Established with a focus on building software infrastructure rather than packaged products — engineering for operators who needed their systems to work at scale.

2016+

Deep telecom integrations

Began multi-year engagements with Sri Lanka's major telecom operators — building and operating VAS platforms that today sustain 10,000+ SMS/sec.

2019+

Australian consumer market

Expanded into consumer mobile applications for the Australian market, where retention and ASO discipline became a second core competency.

2022+

End-to-end manufacturing ERPs

Delivered the Help Grow Lanka platform — a dual-system ecosystem that doubled production throughput for a global coco-peat exporter.

Leadership

Senior on the keys.

The leaders you meet in discovery are the leaders writing the architecture in week one. No bait-and-switch between consultants and delivery.

Ashen Gomez

Founder & CEO

Computer Engineering graduate (BSc Eng Hons, University of Peradeniya). Over a decade building and scaling mobile applications and VAS platforms, including Mobisec's international SMS and VAS partnerships. Leads the firm's technology strategy and enterprise engagements.

Sumudu Jayasundara

Founder & COO

MIS graduate from NSBM Sri Lanka. Serial entrepreneur and operator. Drives Mobisec's commercial operations and has grown the firm into one of Sri Lanka's established software engineering practices.

Omesh Sachethana

Chief Technology Officer

Computer Science graduate from SLIIT. Leads Mobisec's engineering practice across backend systems, cloud architecture, and applied AI. A hands-on technologist who owns the architectural direction of every major engagement.

Advisors

Nalin Uthurawala

Advisor

Founder of Dedunu Fibre Mills, Help Grow Lanka, and several Sri Lankan enterprises. Award-winning entrepreneur with decades of leadership in agricultural exports and manufacturing. Advises Mobisec on enterprise operations and manufacturing domain strategy.

What we believe

Principles we engineer by.

Build, don't assemble

We're a software engineering firm, not a systems integrator. When the problem is real complexity, we build the system — because no off-the-shelf package will fit.

Operate, don't just ship

Our telco platforms have been running under our watch for seven years. We stay engaged past launch because the interesting engineering problems only show up after release.

Measure the right thing

Downloads aren't retention. Uptime isn't resilience. Features aren't adoption. We choose the metric that actually matters, and we're honest when it moves in the wrong direction.

Senior on the keys

The engineer you meet in discovery is the engineer writing code in week one. We don't bait with senior consultants and deliver with juniors.

Global footprint

Engineered in Sri Lanka. Deployed globally.

From Colombo to Sydney, our systems run in production for enterprises, telecom operators, and consumer audiences.

Let's talk

Building something that has to work at scale?

Whether it's an ERP that can't afford a week of downtime, a consumer app entering a saturated market, or a telco platform that needs to hold five nines — talk to our engineering leadership directly.
